Three hares sit in a row above the words "We won the race" and below "Now we must rest." A small edition etching by David Shrigley, whose deadpan drawings and hand-lettered captions have made him one of the most recognizable artists working in Britain today. The hares, the race, and the reward of a rest are classic Shrigley: a joke with a soft landing.
Etched line on heavy Somerset paper, from an edition of only 20, signed, dated and numbered by the artist in pencil. The print is unframed and ships flat.
