Eileen Gray designed the E 1027 table in 1927 for the villa of the same name she built on the French Riviera, reportedly so her sister could take breakfast in bed. A cantilevered ring of tubular steel carries a round glass top that slides up and down a single post, locking at any height. It is one of the earliest pieces of adjustable tubular-steel furniture and one of the most copied designs of the twentieth century.
This example is the authorized ClassiCon edition, the only licensed production, stamped with Gray's signature and a serial number.
